Rector: The Rev. Michael Houlik "Father Mike”
I've been Vicar, and then Rector, of St. Mary Magdalene since 1991. Before that I was Rector of the Church of the Good Samaritan, Gunnison, CO 1980-1991, and Curate at St. James, Wichita, KS 1978-1980.
I received my seminary training at Nashotah House, Nashotah, Wisconsin, 1975-1978. I married the Vicar's lovely wife, Barbara, in 1976, and we proceeded to have two lovely daughters, Emily & Kate.
My hobbies include playing guitar, softball & golf, and making beer.

Assisting Priest: The Rev. Mary Hardy
I am delighted and blessed to serve as Assisting Priest at St. Mary Magdalene. Before moving to Boulder in October 2008 to be closer to my children, I served as assistant rector at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in
Durango, Colorado for seven years.
I graduated from
Church
Divinity
School of the Pacific in
Berkeley, California and in 1992 was the first woman ordained priest in the Diocese of Louisiana. In that Diocese I served as Associate Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in
New Orleans, a large inner city church. For the last fifteen years I have led retreats in a number of states in the South and West, a calling I very much enjoy along with being a spiritual director.
Before becoming a priest I taught school, was a real estate broker, and a
New Orleans caterer. I love cooking, reading, learning new things, hiking and going down western rivers.
My three grown children are Elizabeth, Gus and Dunbar, and my two grandchildren are Mason and Ricky.

Deacon: The Rev. Rhoads Hollowell
I have been a Deacon at St. Mary Magdalene since November 1998 when I finished Colorado's Diaconal Formation Process and was ordained at St. John's Cathedral in Denver. A cradle Episcopalian, I grew up in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and then went to Princeton University where I graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. Moving to Boulder in 1983, I attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder and sang in the choir. My wife, Kim, and I were married in July 1984 in Maine and I brought her to St. John's.
In August 1984, St. John's sent us to St. Mary Magdalene to assist in growing that parish (St. Mary's started as a church planted by St. John's).
We said good-bye to Boulder early in 1993 and moved to California for a job with Apple Computers. In the summer of 1994 we moved back to Colorado and back to St. Mary's; I continue to work for Apple Computer. In addition to being a Deacon at St. Mary's, I am a volunteer chaplain at Avista Hospital in Louisville. We have two children, Jamie and Corey, both in college.
