Episcopal congregations are usually named for saints; ours is named for St. Mary Magdalene.

Not many Episcopal churches are named for women, and our founders wanted to give our church a “strong, feminine name” to honor the role of women throughout the life of the church, and particularly, to honor Mary Magdalene, the first Witness of the Resurrection of Jesus.
