Dear Heatherwood Neighbors,
St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church began in Heatherwood in 1985 and since then we have been privileged to serve this neighborhood in a number of ways. We have made our building available for local girls' and boys' scout troops and gatherings such as the county commissioner’s neighborhood meetings; we host an annual 9Health Fair to provide a local opportunity for inexpensive medical screenings; working with Gunbarrel Preschool and Heatherwood Elementary School, we've founded a scholarship program to enable young children to attend a quality preschool; we’ve adopted a portion of Jay Road which we clean up twice a year to keep it litter free and looking neat; we’ve constructed an outdoor labyrinth that is available to walk; and we encourage children in the neighborhood to come and use the equipment and sandbox in our playground. As a local church, we believe that we should serve the needs of our neighborhood, but we don’t always know what those needs are. In light of this, we thought we would turn to you, our neighbors, and ask you two questions: · Are you aware of any needs in the community that you would like to share with us? · What are some other ways we might be of service to you? to the neighborhood? If you’d like to respond to these questions or if you have other thoughts that you would like to share about our part in the Heatherwood community: · Please join us for dessert and coffee on September 16th at 7:00 pm at 4775 Cambridge Street, or · Drop us an email at: office@stmarymagdalene.org ,or · Phone us at: 303-530-1421 or · Stop by for a visit during our office hours from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, or · Visit our website at www.stmarymagdalene.org We welcome the opportunity to continue to serve the Heatherwood community and we look forward to hearing from you about how we may better do so. Sincerely, Mike Houlik, Rector Felicia SmithGraybeal, Associate Rector Kim Freymiller, Administrative Assistant
