SMM Parish Office

Tammi Bailey, Children's Minister

I've been privileged to work with children and teens for many years in the church. Children have a unique and wonderful understanding of God working in our lives. Godly Play is a creative, scripture based program that encourages and nurtures the spiritual growth of our children.

In the other half of my life, I teach nursing at Front Range Community College and have a private psychotherapy practice. I have 3 grown daughters, a 9 year old son and a 5 year old grandson.

Joel McKee Cooper, Pianist

I am a cradle Episcopalian and have been involved in church music all my life: singing, bell choir, worship team, early/renaissance ensembles, and now (finally) pianist.  I started piano at age 5, studied classical through high school, played sporadically through college (including one season as keyboardist for the CU Buffs Basketball Band), then took an overlong hiatus.  After joining the St. Mary Magadalene parish, I was fortunate enough to be inspired and encouraged to play again.  After several years playing one Sunday a month, I am now very excited to be playing full time!

By day I am a software engineer for QSC Audio.  I have an amazing and beautiful wife, Margaret and two amazing and beautiful children, Aidan and Sarah.

Jayanthi Bunyan

Jayanthi Bunyan, Choir Director

I am excited to be leading such a fun, energetic choir here at St. Mary Magdalene’s.  In May 2008, I graduated from SUNY Fredonia in New York State with a Music Education-Voice degree.  Having grown up in Loveland, I'm thrilled to be back in Colorado working for the Boulder school district.  I work at Douglass and Lafayette Elementary teaching first, second, and fourth grade music.

When I'm not busy lesson planning for my first year of teaching, I enjoy cooking and hiking.  I am also a freelance photographer and artist specializing in mixed media.  St. Mary Magdalene has a wonderful choir. We're always looking for new singers and we'd love to have you join us!

Leslie Harvison, Bookkeeper & Interim Youth Minister

I love math and working with numbers, so the bookkeeping job fits me well. Doing this work helps support my faith by witnessing the financial faithfulness of those in our church community. It's encouraging to see financial goals set and then accomplished.

One of my favorite bookkeeper moments was persuading the Vestry to adopt my idea for a Storehouse Fund. It's a special savings account that is available for when God presents the Parish with an opportunity, such as planting a mission, helping others in a disaster, a facility need, etc., there is money available to act on that opportunity. Hopefully this fund will grow and be a blessing to our community and others in the future.

Dan and Karen Klena

Dan and Karen Klena, Sextons

Dan is a Boulder native and retired Army pilot. Karen is retired from the school district and is building a travel business.

We have 2 children, 1 dog and 1 cat. We moved to Heatherwood 13 years ago and have found wonderful friends and a wonderful church in St. Mary Magdalene. Working at the church is just a small way to give back for all the "giving" we receive.
